Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How would you describe your style?
My style of photography as bright, genuine and playfully romantic. If that sounds like you, I’d love to chat with you about photographing your wedding.

Why do an Engagement Session?
Engagement Sessions are a blast! You get to go on a date and I get to document the two of you. You can use your images for wedding invitations, save-the-dates, guestbooks, wedding and home decor. It also give us a chance to get to know each other and allows you two to see what it’s like to be photographed together, so that on your Wedding day you feel beautiful and confident.

Do you travel?
My passport is up to date and I love to travel. I am available for destination weddings worldwide. Fees include: flight, hotel, transportation. Depending on the destination and the size and scope of the wedding, fees are custom created to fit each couple’s weddings.

What is a First Look?
A “First Look” is when the bride and groom get to see each other before the ceremony and have a few quiet moments together. It’s such a sweet time to get some photos of just the two of you. Makeup is fresh and butterflies are turning, and it speeds up the time between the ceremony and reception because we’ll have taken most the photos of just the two of you beforehand.

What are Night Shots?
During the open dancing part of your wedding reception, I’ll bring you outside for 5-10 minutes and for a few night photos and then get you right back to dancing! It’s a nice little breather and a sweet moment with a totally different look.

What is a Grand Exit?
A “Grand Exit” is doing a big send off after the wedding reception! It’s the finale! Some couples choose to do sparklers or have everyone cheer them on as they drive away in a fancy car (or boat! -it’s happened). Other couples love to just dance the night away and be the last ones standing. The choice is all yours!

How much time do we need for family photos after the wedding ceremony?
Typically, family photos take 20-30 mins to get done with all the different combinations. This varies on size of the family and also how many different combinations we do. I ask for a list of the family combinations before the wedding to make sure no one gets left out. It’s also a great idea to tell your family members to stay close after the ceremony so we can quickly get the pictures done and they can head off to enjoy cocktail hour.
I'm ready to book! Whats the next step?
Awesome! You can book online! A signed photography agreement and 50% deposit will officially secure your date. Contact Janet »

Why do you shoot with two photographers?
My goal is to give you the best possible wedding photos and I’ve learned shooting with at least two photographers helps insure the best coverage for you. It also helps with tight timelines and allows us to be in two places at once.

How many images will I receive?
I deliver approximately 70 edited images per hour of shooting. For example, eight hours of wedding photography coverage typically yields 500-600 edited images delivered.

Will my images be watermarked?
Absolutely not. I am a firm believer that your images are YOUR images and I always include all your edited high resolution, un-watermarked, images. You are welcomed to print, post and share your photos with family and friends.

How much do you charge?
Wedding Photography Coverage starts at $5,600 and includes a complimentary engagement session, wedding photography coverage, two photographers, all your edited images delivered within six weeks, and 2 year online backup of your images.

What type of editing do you do?
Every photo that leaves my studio has been professional processed to look it’s best. This includes exposure adjustments, color correcting, cropping and creating some black and white stylized photos. I also offer heavy retouching (ie. smoothing out skin, lightening dark areas under the eyes, fly away hairs, fixing smiles or blinking, etc.) Heavy retouching starts at $30 per photo.

When will I receive my images?
My goal is to get you your images as quickly as possible so one week after your wedding I send you a highlights gallery that you are welcomed to download, print, post and share. I will have all your wedding images edited and delivered within eight weeks of your wedding. Portrait and Engagement Sessions are delivered in two weeks.

Casa Romantica San Clemente Wedding

quotesMy fiancé and I were nervous because we tend to look awkward in photos; but, Janet guided us and we loved how our pictures turned out! “

I found out about Janet through Casa Romantica’s preferred vendor list. She came highly recommended by the venue. My fiancé and I were nervous because we tend to look awkward in photos; but, Janet guided us and we loved how our pictures turned out! When our world got turned upside down in March 2020, Janet helped us come up with a backup plan for wedding photos in case our big day wasn’t able to happen as we had planned. “
