Vinh + Anisa // Christ Cathedral + Turnip Rose Wedding

From the first time I met Vinh and Anisa at the Wedding Consultation their sweet, bubbly personalities welcomed me and we felt like instant friends. After their Engagement Session in San Juan Capistrano and Laguna Beach they were so thoughtful that they invited me to join them for dinner because they knew my husband was out of town on tour.

We started early with the getting ready photos at Anisa’s mom’s house and all her girls were there. After they were all dressed and done up, Anisa honored her mom and step-dad with gifts and I got teary eyed for sure. We also had Vinh come over and they did their First Look at the house.

After the First Look we made our way to Vinh’s parent’s house where they honored their ancestors that had past and met relatives they hadn’t seen before. Then we drove over to the Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove where they had a full Catholic Mass and wedding ceremony.

The Reception took place at the Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa. I had wanted to photograph a wedding there for years because my house was just across the street and I would always see the beautiful spanish architecture and lush garden designs. A few months before their wedding my husband and I moved to San Clemente but it was fun to be back in my old neighborhood once again. Anisa and her girls spent countless hours on DIY decor and it was worth it. They had butterflies dripping from the entryway and in throughout the floral arrangements. It was magical.

Vinh and Anisa I am so happy for you two and love seeing the way you balance each other out. You two are so quirky and fun and its been a joy to get to know you. 

When you’ve known your girls for so many year and from so many different areas in your life it’s fun to share how much they mean. Loved Anisa’s signs she made for each of her girls.

Always so sweet to end a wedding with a few intimate night shots of just the Bride and Groom. So happy for you two!
